Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PitchEngine ("PitchEngine," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). Please read this policy carefully. By creating an account or otherwise using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our services:
Account Information: When you create a PitchEngine account, you may sign up directly or through "Sign in with Apple" or "Sign in with Google." Depending on the method you choose and the permissions you grant, we receive your name, email address, and a unique identifier. We do not receive your Apple ID or Google account password.
Profile & Training Data: To personalize your coaching plan, we collect information you provide, such as your playing position, body weight, Maximal Aerobic Speed (MAS), workout completions, session logs, sprint reps, and performance milestones.
Payment & Subscription Data: If you purchase a premium subscription, your payment is processed directly by the Apple App Store. We do not collect or store your raw credit card details. We use a third-party service provider (RevenueCat) to manage, validate, and track your subscription status, which collects your App Store purchase receipt and a unique user identifier.
Device & Usage Data: We automatically collect certain technical information, including device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and general usage analytics (e.g., features used, session length), to help us maintain and improve the App.
2. Explicit Consent for Health & Fitness Data
Under UK and EU privacy laws (GDPR), fitness and physiological metrics (like your body weight, MAS, and training performance) are considered "special category data." By providing this data to PitchEngine, you explicitly consent to our processing of this information for the sole purpose of generating and adjusting your personalized coaching plans. You may withdraw this consent at any time by deleting your account and data directly within the App.
3. AI-Generated Coaching & Third-Party Processing
PitchEngine uses third-party artificial intelligence services, specifically the OpenAI API, to analyze your training data (such as position, fitness metrics, and workout history) to generate personalized workout prescriptions, adjust training loads, and surface progress insights.
Automated Processing: The recommendations you receive are generated by machine-learning models. They are intended for general fitness and training guidance only and do not constitute medical advice.
Data Privacy with OpenAI: Your data is sent to OpenAI strictly to generate your personal workout plans. Under OpenAI's API privacy terms, your personal data and workout inputs are not used to train OpenAI's independent, public machine-learning models. Data sent to the API is temporarily retained by the provider for a maximum of 30 days for strict security and abuse-monitoring purposes before being permanently deleted.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account and authenticate you via Apple or Google Sign-In.
- Generate, personalize, and adjust your AI training prescriptions.
- Track and display your performance history, milestones, and achievements.
- Manage your premium subscription and validate your App Store purchases.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the App, including diagnosing technical issues.
- Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service Providers: We share data with trusted vendors who perform functions on our behalf under strict contractual confidentiality obligations. This includes cloud hosting platforms, data storage providers, authentication services (Apple, Google), analytics platforms, subscription management (RevenueCat), and AI processors (OpenAI).
- Legal & Safety Purposes: We may disclose information where required to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful legal requests, or protect the rights, property, or safety of PitchEngine, our users, or others.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred subject to standard confidentiality arrangements.
6. International Data Transfers
PitchEngine is based in the United Kingdom. Because we utilize global service providers (such as Apple, Google, OpenAI, and RevenueCat), your personal data may be transferred to and processed on servers located in the United States or other jurisdictions outside the UK and European Economic Area (EEA). We ensure appropriate legal safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and strict data processing agreements, are in place to protect your data during these transfers in compliance with UK GDPR.
7. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We retain your account and training data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with the App's features.
Account Deletion: You may initiate the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time directly within the App by navigating to the Settings menu and selecting "Delete Account." Upon requesting account deletion, your personal profile, training history, and account data will be permanently deleted from our active servers within 30 days, except where temporary retention is strictly required for legal, security, or financial compliance (e.g., maintaining records of a completed App Store financial transaction).
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request the deletion of your personal data (Right to be Forgotten).
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw your consent for processing special category health data at any time.
You can manage most of your profile information directly within the App. To exercise any other rights, please contact us using the details below.
9. Data Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards—including encryption in transit and secure access controls—designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
PitchEngine is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action to delete the data.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other means prior to the change becoming effective. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
